Creating an external company with referral rates

If your business receives jobs from another company — such as a motor club, property manager, or lead provider — you can add that company to your External Companies list. This lets you track who referred you a job and even track how much you owe them as a referral or finder’s fee.

This feature is included with the Field Service Plus add-on.

How to add a new external company

  1. Go to Settings → External Companies
  2. Click + Add new profile

       3. Fill in company details: On the company profile page, enter the following:

                   a. Company name

                b. (Optional) Contact information (optional): Add the company’s phone number or email for reference

                   c. Referral rate: Set a referral rate for this company. You can set either a fixed ($) rate  or a variable (%) rate on a referral base. e.g. 20% of Invoice total, 30% of Net margin, etc.

Referral bases available for variable referrals

Once created, you’ll see the external company listed in your directory with:

You can come back anytime to update the referral rate or disable the company.

Good to know

  • Referral companies can be selected when creating a job
  • You can update referral rates at any time — changes will apply to future jobs only
