In this article, you’ll learn how to close a job once it has been completed by the technician and reviewed by the back office or dispatch.
What Closing a Job Means
In ScanPay, closing a job means updating its status to reflect that all work has been completed and reviewed. It’s important to distinguish this from canceling or archiving a job—closing is only for jobs that have been fully carried out in the field.
Accurately updating job statuses helps ensure clean records and more reliable job profitability and payout reports. Jobs that are marked “Done” are also ready for inclusion in team pay runs.
Closing a Job
To close a job, open the job from your dashboard or job list. If the job is still marked as In Progress or Done Pending Approval, use the Status dropdown and select Done. This indicates that the job has been reviewed and approved by the back office or dispatch team.
If the technician has already marked the job as Done Pending Approval, this final approval step is typically performed by the admin after reviewing job notes, attachments, and any associated adjustments.
Viewing Closed Jobs
Jobs marked as Done will no longer appear in the active job queue by default. However, you can still access them anytime by applying the Status filter or viewing the job history on the customer’s profile.
Keeping job statuses up to date not only helps with cleaner dispatching—it also ensures your reporting, payouts, and team performance tracking remain accurate.
