Payout Timing Update - October 2025

Starting October 20, 2025, automatic payouts are created on the same day they arrive in your bank account instead of one day before. Your funds arrive at the same time - only when the payout is created has changed.

What Changed

Before October 20:Payouts were created one day before they arrived in your bank account.

After October 20:Payouts are created on the same day they arrive in your bank account.

What you'll notice:Payouts will show "On its way" status one day later than before, but your money arrives at the exact same time.

Examples

Weekday Payment

  • Take payment on Monday
  • Old timing: Payout shows "On its way" Monday night → Money arrives Wednesday
  • New timing: Payout shows "On its way" Tuesday night → Money arrives Wednesday

Thursday Payment

  • Take payment on Thursday
  • Old timing: Payout shows "On its way" Sunday night → Money arrives Tuesday
  • New timing: Payout shows "On its way" Monday night → Money arrives Tuesday

Friday Payment

  • Take payment on Friday
  • Old timing: Payout shows "On its way" Sunday night → Money arrives Tuesday
  • New timing: Payout shows "On its way" Monday night → Money arrives Tuesday
Note: Payouts still account for weekends and bank holidays. The arrival time in your bank account has not changed.

What This Does NOT Affect

This update only changes automatic payout timing. The following remain unchanged:

  • When funds arrive in your bank account (still 2-3 business days)
  • How much you receive (amounts are the same)
  • Which bank account receives the payout
  • Payout fees (no fee changes)
  • Instant Payouts (still same-day for 1.5% fee)

Why This Change Helps You

Fewer Split Transactions

When customers request refunds (which usually happen within a day or two of the original payment), the refund is now included in the same payout as the original payment. Instead of seeing two separate transactions - one deposit and one withdrawal - you'll see a single net amount. This makes reconciliation easier and your transaction history cleaner.

More Flexibility Before Funds Are Sent

Once a payout shows "On its way," those funds are locked in transit to your bank and can't be accessed. With this change, your funds stay available in your ScanPay account one day longer. If you need same-day access to funds, you can still trigger an Instant Payout before the automatic payout is created.

Frequently Asked Questions

My payout isn't showing "On its way" yet. Where is it?
After October 20, payouts are created one day later than before. Your money is still coming at the same time — the payout just hasn't been created yet. Check back the next day and you'll see the "On its way" status.
Does my money arrive in my bank account later now?
No. Funds arrive in your bank account at the exact same time as before. Only the timing of when the payout is created changed. The delivery time to your bank is unchanged.
What about weekend and holiday payouts?
Weekend and holiday timing works the same way as before — payouts are not created on weekends or bank holidays. For example:

• Friday payments: Payout created Monday night, arrives Tuesday
• Saturday/Sunday payments: Payout created Monday night, arrives Tuesday

The arrival time in your bank account has not changed.
Does this affect Instant Payouts?
No. Instant Payouts still deliver funds to your bank account within hours for a 1.5% fee. This is available anytime you need same-day access to your funds.
I use a ScanPay Spend account. Does this affect me?
If you receive payouts into your ScanPay Spend account, you're already on this timing system — there's no change for you. This update only affects payouts going to external bank accounts.
I have multiple team members. Do they see this change too?
Yes. This affects all users on your account who can view payout information. Everyone will see the "On its way" status one day later than before.
Can I go back to the old timing?
No. This update applies to all ScanPay accounts automatically. It does not affect when your money arrives in your bank account, which remains the same as is today.

Technical Details

Payout cutoff time: Payments received before 7:00 PM ET are included in that day's payout batch.

ACH processing: Payouts are sent via standard ACH, which takes 2-3 business days to reach your bank account. This has not changed.

Business days: Payouts are only created on business days (Monday-Friday, excluding bank holidays).

Bank posting times: Your bank controls when funds appear in your account. Some banks show transfers as "pending" before posting, others only show once funds are posted. This is not controlled by ScanPay.
